EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

How did you first get into DJing and producing electronic dance music?

My first exposure to music was at the age of four. That’s because my mom used to listen to classical and orchestral music. I fell in love with all the instruments, especially the piano, violin, and cello. What is fascinating about music is that it’s a universal language and connects people from all over the world. Over the years, I fell in love with more genres, especially EDM. I remember the first time I watched the Tomorrowland festival, and I was hooked.

There is something contagious about electronic music. I believe that the most important thing in life is to be happy, celebrate it and create memories. This is exactly what EDM is all about. I struggled severely in the school system and felt that I was wasting my time. I taught myself how to play piano at the age of 15, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I still have a lot to learn, and I am getting better every day. Music started as a way to distract myself from struggles at school and social life, but it quickly became much more than that. A year later, I started creating music and knew I had found my purpose.

Who are some of your biggest influences in the industry?

I have so many influences, in the EDM industry and outside. Avicii, Coldplay, ILLENIUM , The Script , Calvin Harris (the old stuff) , Ed Sheeran , Martin Garrix , Jon Bellion , Said The Sky and many more…

Can you walk us through your process for creating a new track?

99% of the time I start with the melody. I improvise on the piano until I found a good melody and chord progression. Then I start producing and adding synths, guitars, violins, cellos, rhythms, and stuff. I always collaborate with other singers because unfortunately, I can’t sing, my voice is terrible. So, I find amazing singers on social media or on music platforms.

How do you prepare for a gig? Do you have any pre-performance rituals or routines?

Actually I have not perform yet because in my country the EDM scene is not popular at all and most people don’t listen to music in English.

Can you share any memorable experiences or anecdotes from your time as a DJ and producer?

As a producer….the success of my song “Explore The World.” 535,000 reels on Instagram and millions of streams across all the music platforms. This song holds such a special place in my heart. It means the world to me, especially because I created it with my amazing and talented sister. This is the first song I ever released, and I never expected it to be huge. The song started to take off only a year after I released it. People started using it on their Instagram videos and it went viral. I never thought that my debut song would go viral! This song touches so many people and I am extremely grateful. It’s been a really cool thing to see the message in the song have such a profound impact on people. I was in such a strange place in life when this song came out. The success of this song gave me confidence. It made me believe I am good enough and that I must continue no matter what.

What’s next for you in terms of new projects or goals?

The goal for 2023 is to get an artist visa; I really want to move to the US. I believe that I will have many more opportunities there to develop my music career. Unfortunately, it’s very complicated, but I believe that one day I’ll get it. I will keep making music and touching people’s hearts and souls. I want to keep growing my socials and fanbase. I want to evolve and become a better version of myself – as a musician and as a person.

In your free time, what do you like to do outside of music? Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of the industry?

Training and travelling. I love the nature because it gives me peace of mind and a huge boost of inspiration.

What are some challenges you’ve faced as a DJ and how have you overcome them?

I can tell about the challenges I face as a music producer. I deal with a lot of mental struggles, Social media is a huge part of being a successful musician and it can really mess with the mind and soul. All the numbers, likes, comments, and stuff… it’s not easy. Making art is a lonely path sometime and the music industry is a very dark place. Most people don’t really understand how hard is to be an independent musician. A lot of musicians suffer from mental health. Luckily making music isn’t draining me or distracting me from working on my mental health, it’s guiding me. In 2022 I learned I can still find peace, happiness, motivation, and my true self even during the hardest, darkest times. If I push myself to every limit, it will be hard, but I know I can get through it. A new version of myself is just right beneath the surface, and I’m excited to share that growth with my listeners.

Exclusive Interview With Music Producer, Dj, And Songwriter Brainheart

How do you think the electronic dance music industry has changed since you first started out?

I think that electronic artists want to add more emotions to their music instead of just focusing on how to make people dance. It doesn’t mean that they forget about electronic dance elements. They combine dance music, meaningful lyrics, and live instruments to make something unique, special, and more emotional. I think that this combination is powerful and contagious.

What do you hope to achieve with your music in the long-term?

I want to make a lasting impact and be an inspiration for many generations to come. I want to create music that will last forever in people’s hearts and affect the way they see life.

Can you share any tips or advice for aspiring DJs and producers who are just starting out in the industry?

I can get advice about the music process but honestly the mindset is the most important part. Always remember that life is fragile, and we only live once. We don’t have to obey. We don’t have to conform to an ideology that is placed upon our shoulders just because someone says so. No matter who you are, you can have a voice, and you can have a say. You can break the rules. Dare to dream big and set your goals high. Every time you fail, you come one step closer to success.

I know it sounds crazy, but this is the truth. The world works in mysterious ways. If you have any plans or tiny little ideas in your head of who you want to be, where you want to go, or what you want to do, just make your own rules, don’t take no for an answer, listen to your gut, and have endless belief in yourself. The prize is the fulfillment of reaching your destiny. And your destiny is the most important thing. Trust the process, have faith in the future, and trust life.
