Joel Corry just dropped the ultimate feel-good summer track in collab with fellow UK superstar Caity Baser, ‘Dance Around It’.
Getting in the studio to record together after Joel attended Caity’s sold-out headline show at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum just two weeks ago, ‘Dance Around It’ is the latest in a series of bubbling new dance records that have firmly set the tone for Joel’s year.
Following hot on the heels of the sugary-sweet, bubblegum house of Joel’s ‘Do U Want Me Baby?’ with Billen Ted & featuring Elphi, ‘Dance Around It’ sees him collide with one of 2023’s breakout names.
“‘Dance Around It’ has been killing it in my club sets”, Joel explains. “Working with Caity on this record has been so much fun, she’s really talented and I love her energy. The track feels super fresh and it really shows off Caity’s personality. I’m buzzing to ‘Dance Around It’ all summer!”
Revered for her both-barrels, conversational tone and witty, relatable social commentary, Caity Baser kicked off the year by claiming her first ever UK Top 40 single in the form of ‘Pretty Boys’, which peaked at #26 back in March. She’s since also recently completed a sold-out 10 date UK tour, culminating in her biggest ever show at O2 Kentish Town Forum.
“We had SO much fun making this, and it turned out to be an absolute banger if I do say so myself!”, says Caity of ‘Dance Around It’. “My boy Joel smashed it making the track, and the lyrics are true to my actual life. Anyone that knows me knows I basically spend all my time dancing around. So this is about escaping daily life and losing your shit, forgetting about everything else.”
About Joel Corry
With 5x platinum UK records, 5x BRIT nominations and over a decade of club shows all over the world under his belt, Joel Corry is one of the most revered names in contemporary dance music.
He made his breakthrough with 2019’s UK Top 10 single, ‘Sorry’, which also broke the all-time 24-hour Shazam record in the UK with over 41,000 recorded tags, paving the way for collaborations with the likes of David Guetta, Jax Jones, Charli XCX, Tom Grennan and Mabel, as well as a further four Top 10 records – including 2020’s anthemic UK #1 single and global smash, ‘Head & Heart’ ft. MNEK.
Over the last three years, Joel also played sold-out headline tours in the UK, US and Australia, performed at both the MTV EMAs and The Pride Of Britain Awards and secured coveted DJ residences in both Las Vegas and New York, as well as holding down two consecutive flagship weekly residencies at Ibiza Rocks.
About Caity Baser
Hailed as a one to watch by many including Rolling Stone UK, The Independent, NME and more, 20-year-old pop singer Caity Baser has seen her enormous fanbase explode in a matter of months.
Her viral hit singles ‘Friendly Sex’ and ‘X&Y’ both helped the Southampton-born singer become the name on everyone’s lips last summer, but it was her live performances at Reading & Leeds festivals – just before two sold-out shows at London’s XOYO – which captured the attention of the UK and beyond.
Her shows were met with packed-out crowds screaming every lyric of her songs back at her, with fans clearly closely identifying with Caity and her no-holds-barred, no-filter approach to her music and her personality.
Now signed to EMI Records, latest single ‘Pretty Boys’ saw her biggest chart success to date, rising to #26 on the UK Official Singles Chart. She also recently collaborated with chart-topping dance act Sigala on ‘Feels This Good’ – a summer anthem which also featured Mae Muller and Stefflon Don. Following her acclaimed sold-out UK tour, Caity will be performing across the UK this summer, appearing at many festivals and live events.
