Chelsea Collins continues to prove that she is here to break barriers as the world’s newest pop prowess with the release of her single “Wake Up At Our Funeral.”

Unapologetically pop, the sparkling beat, warm vibrato, and crisp guitar strums revert listeners back to the pop era of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream that defined many people’s coming-of-age moments, while her dark, clever lyricism tells the vivid story of a previous toxic relationship that nearly put them both 6 feet under. This narrative juxtaposed to the bubbly production makes for a bewitching, cinematic piece.

The multifaceted singer, songwriter and producer’s ability to channel her real life experiences into vulnerable, earwormy, sugary-sweet songs makes her a true standout in the pop realm.

The single is accompanied by the official visualizer shot at the hauntingly iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the burial grounds for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars dating back to 1899. Roses on fire, a mausoleum dancefloor and a destructive love set the stage as viewers are invited in to explore the duality of life and death.

“Wake Up At Our Funeral is about a love so toxic, thrilling, and passionate that you feel like you could die. You become so addicted to the highs and the lows that even though you know everything is about to end soon, you refuse to give it up,” says Collins on her latest single.

“Wake Up At Our Funeral” follows the release of Collins’ sentimental pop ballad “Hotel Bed” ft 5x GRAMMY nominated artist Swae Lee and her crack pop Y2K anthem “Open Your Mouth,” which premiered exclusively on FLAUNT magazine. These three singles show that Collins has honed in on a sound that is uniquely her own, positioning her for a big break in 2021 with her highly anticipated debut EP set to release this Fall.

About Chelsea Collins

the 22-year-old San Francisco-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist caught the attention of HITCO Founder and C.E.O. L.A. Reid during a 2019 studio session, and shortly after inked a deal with the label. Collins is also signed with S2 for publishing, the company owned by famed songwriter Savan Kotecha and Sonny Takhar. Streamed over 55 million times, the young artist introduced herself in 2019 on “Tobacco and Tears,” and sailed through 2020 with a plethora of singles, starting with “Used to be (L.O.V.E.),” accumulating over 25 million streams. She then released her single “07 Britney,” a searing singalong showcasing the scope of her signature sound. Following was her infectious single “Water Run Dry” featuring rapper, singer and fellow Bay Area native 24kGoldn, and her latest was a collaboration with Global Citizen, a track called “Higher Ground” where she was joined by Grammy nominated R&B artist Andra Day.
