Exclusive Interview with DJ & Producer Duo Super Disco Club

Hi Cassie & Andy! We would like to thank you for taking the time to talk with us here at Soundrive Music. Please give us a brief introduction, tell us a little bit of what you guys do and how you got started.

“Hi Soundrive Music, thanks for having us. We are Andy Van and Cassie and we make dance music with a bit of a disco influence. We actually started this group quite a while back, in 2018. We worked on a bunch of demos through that year with the plan to release in 2019. But the wonderful world of Covid and virtually no clubbing globally created quite a dilemma for us, so we decided to hold off releasing our debut single ‘We Are One’, which got really strong global DJ Support.”

‘Super Disco Club’, your stage name, We love it! How did you come up with the name and what is the meaning? Does Super Disco Club have an alter ego?

“Thank you, so happy you like it. We love NuDisco, Disco House and Italo Disco and wanted a name that captures those genres and connects them to energetic club music.”

Tell us about your latest release ‘Happiness’ that drops today and what it was like working alongside Sadako Pointer? What was your motivation behind this release?

“We have a lot of love for 80s music and loved the original version of “Happiness” by The Pointer Sisters. We wanted to put our 2021 NuDisco spin on it and we were very fortunate to get Sadako Pointer on the vocals to re-sing it. She has been amazing to work with and spent so much time getting the vocals perfect.”

What would be the ultimate collaboration for you guys and which artist or artist’s would you enjoy working with if you had the chance?

“There are so many amazing singers and artists in the world. Giorgio Moroder or Madonna would be amazing. Madonna makes such great pop dance music. In the dance music scene it would be Duck Sauce or Bob Sinclar.”

With over 1.2 Million artists on Spotify alone what makes ‘Super Disco Club’ unique and how do you stand out from the crowd?

“Aah that’s a hard one. I’d say if someone wanted to find an artist that connects energetic House music with a NuDisco edge, mixed with catchy vocal hooks, then that’s us.”

Our scouts are always looking for new music that hits that sweet spot here at Soundrive Music. Give us some of your best releases to date! What tracks would you recommend to our fans?

“As we’re a new artist we don’t have a lot of releases but our first single ‘We Are One’ was a fun disco house release. And of course now ‘Happiness’ is dropping. After that we have a remix for Dubbel Drop called ‘Ecstacy’. And a  remix for UK’s Soul Central in the new year.”

What song, no matter how many times you listen to it, never gets old for you?

“‘Lady’ by Modjo or ‘I Feel Love’ by Donna Summer.”

Tell us something personal that your fans don’t know about you? Blasterjaxx spoke with us recently and the guys both hate Mushrooms!

“Andy doesn’t drink alcohol but Cassie loves a glass of champagne. And we both love renovating houses.”

What single night out has been most memorable for you as a DJ and producer duo and do you spend much time together behind the scenes when you are not being ‘Super Disco Club’?

“One memorable night out for us was when we were staying at a Hollywood Hotel doing gigs in LA and we crashed P Diddys private party. But eventually got escorted out. Well we are married so we definitely hang out together a lot and have many crazy fun times together.”
