Linney explains: “Run to the Forest quite literally came from a dream a few months before my entire family traveled to North Carolina (where I grew up) for my wedding one year ago. My Father-in-Law dreamt he had to wake up to call me and tell me to “run to the forest.” I knew I had to turn that message into a song. I grew up on 10 acres of old farmland in rural North Carolina and had a forest in my backyard.

“Run to the Forest” is about reconnecting with where I grew up and finding that authenticity that presents itself each time I return. I live in Los Angeles now and the city makes me miss nature all the time. I miss the rain, I miss the lush green forests. So I created something that helps me return there every time I listen. I hope that it inspires you to reconnect with where you feel at home.”
