Awakenings x Ki/Ki – The Free ADE Highlight 2024

Ki/Ki and Awakenings invited to the Gashouder on Wednesday, October 16th

The week immediately started off legendary at Awakenings; first with Marlon Hoffstadt’s Awakenings Upclose event until 22:30, then clearing the venue and making room for the one and only Ki/Ki who was to perform for 5 hours straight at the breathtaking Gashouder venue.

Known for her fast, futuristic and euphoric sets, as-well as her own ‘Ki/Ki Invites Series’, the Dutch Ki/Ki is becoming a force to be reckoned with. From starting out in Amsterdam’s underground dj scene to playing a 5 hours set for Awakenings at the Gashouder in the same city; we were very curious to what she and Awakenings had in store for us!

The Ki/Ki Awakenings ADE event was free for everyone who claimed a ticket, and in the end was completely sold out (all tickets were claimed). So naturally the gashouder was packed! To us that came as no surprise though, because Ki/Ki played such a great set which completely fit with her signature sound.

This venue was also perfect for these kind of parties; the acoustics were really good inside and the light effects were mesmerising. The latter made use of the spherical shape of the venue, causing light to travel all over the place and creating an atmosphere that can only be described as magical. Wherever we found ourselves in the crowd, the music sounded very full and sonically correct.

All in all was this an unforgettable experience in which Ki/Ki showed that she knows how to play a long and still great set, and where Awakenings showed again that they’re at the top when it comes to organising techno parties.
