DallasK and Nicky Romero with XYLØ Release Video for Summertime Crossover Hit ‘Sometimes’

Following the single’s release earlier this spring, DallasK reveals the video for “Sometimes,” his collaboration with Dutch superstar Nicky Romero and LA-based vocalist XYLØ, which makes its premiere today on Billboard Dance

Directed by Nic Stanich, the video brings to life the effusive song’s bittersweet lyrics about the dilemma of being with someone new but still thinking about your ex. A reflection of the current social media craze, the former couple reminisce while scrolling through each other’s posts as they recall their most memorable times shared together. “When I wrote this song, I focused on the lingering thoughts left over from a past relationship. And in the video, I wanted to capture exactly that. Those remaining memories drive the feelings that haven’t found a home yet in either your past or present,” says DallasK.

While the  lyrics address a sensitive subject, the production keeps the song light and airy. Billboard called the single “a summery bit of romantic dance-pop to get you in the skin-showing mood.” YourEDM agreed, saying “The chorus gets you swaying along with the future house groove as you can envision yourself at a festival stage with hands up and a light breeze blowing.”

Upon its release, the song was added to 34 New Music Friday playlists and several Spotify playlists including New Dance Beats, Hot Beats, and New Dance Revolution. Nicky adds, “I couldn’t be happier with the early success of this record. We all got together a few weeks back in Vegas to celebrate and watched the final cuts of the video.

I’m excited for the rest of the world to see it now.” DallasK just wrapped up a series of dates including Las Vegas and Houston and is headed to Chicago for a performance at PRYSM on July 19.
